Update to the memo sent out March 23, 2020.
Please be advised that the Federation Staff are still working from home during this time of Covid-19. However, you are able to reach the Federation by calling the main line at 902-424-3071. Jill Martin (902-424-2711), Debbie Thibault (902-424-2314) and Gary Landry’s (902-424-2043) office lines have been forwarded to cell phones and they are all available during regular office hours. As well, foster parents may reach all staff using their emails listed in the Federation Newsletter.
Meetings are still being held via conference calls, Zoom and Microsoft Teams including those for the Foster Allegation & Support Program and the Peer Support Services Program. However, the Training Programs (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training, Sensitivity Training for Foster Families and Standard First Aid/CPR “C”) are all cancelled during Nova Scotia’s State of Emergency. Foster parents will be notified when the Federation and St. John Ambulance are able to present these programs again. Consideration needs to be given in terms of social distancing, the number of participants per program, training space availability, etc.
The Federation will update you once we are able to return to normal albeit a new normal. Please stay safe and healthy during these challenging times!
