Pat Lord Post-Secondary Education Award for Pictou County Adoptees 2024 Application:

The Aberdeen Health Foundation is now accepting applications for the Pat Lord Post-Secondary Education Award for Pictou County Adoptees for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The Pat Lord Post-Secondary Education Award for Pictou County Adoptees was created in 2009 to recognize the work of Pat Lord, an Adoption Worker who retired after 39 years of service with the Children’s Aid Society of Pictou County.

 The award is available to youth who were either in the care of the Children’s Aid Society of Pictou County and placed for adoption within Nova Scotia OR have been in the care of another child protection agency within Nova Scotia and placed for adoption with a family in Pictou County.

 Each year, one student will receive this award of $2,000. The award is granted based on the applicant’s demonstrated involvement in their school and community rather than their academic success.

 Applications must be received by May 10, 2024.
