Skills 2 SucSEED

On October 7th, Cohort 10 of the Skills 2 SucSEED program will begin. Skills 2 SucSEED is a pre-employability program for youth aged 15-21 who are: in care or post-care, on Income Assistance (or dependents), in public housing, or are at risk of being, or already connected to OSD.

This cohort, we are specifically looking for more referrals from OUTSIDE of the HRM, to keep consistent with our policies on diversity, equity and inclusion. Please still refer anyone, however priority will be given to those outside of the HRM for the time being.

About the program:

The program is 12 weeks of twice weekly evening workshops that are completely online, and culminates in a 8 week subsidized work placement. The workshops focus on Digital Literacy, Wellness and Employment skills and youth are paid for their time. Skills 2 SucSEED prioritizes creating a fun, accessible environment for youth to learn valuable life and employment skills.

Youth will be provided laptops to use while in the program, and upon completion of all three phases, the laptop is theirs to keep. Youth also have access to the Blue Rabbit gamification platform, which allows them to engage in educational quests to earn real world incentives.

If you are connected to a youth who you think would be a good fit, you can put in referrals here:
