Peer Support Services
Peer Support Services would like to introduce you to our new monthly Lunch and Learn event!
The monthly Lunch and Learn sessions will be held online via Zoom on the last Monday of each month, starting January 25, 2021. Come share virtual space with fellow foster parents, right from the comfort of your own home!
Each month’s Lunch and Learn will feature a topical discussion, facilitated by FFFNS, and will also offer space for foster parents to hear and be heard. Guest speakers will be invited to share with foster parents from time to time.
WHAT: Monthly Virtual Lunch and Learn
WHEN: Last Monday of each month
WHERE: Wherever you are, via Zoom (you do not need to have a Zoom account to participate)
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Email kim.bulger@novascotia.ca each month for the joining instructions.
Peer Support Services continues to offer On-Call Support
Our foster parent volunteers all have at least five years of fostering experience. This means PSS Volunteers have a broad range of fostering experiences, making them an incredible support resource for you to access.

All foster parents – General, Kinship, Contract, and Respite – are welcome to call a Peer Support volunteer after regular business hours:
Wednesday 4:00pm to 10:00pm
Thursday 4:00pm to 10:00pm
Friday 4:00pm to 10:00pm
Saturday 10:00am to 10:00pm

One-on-One Peer Support
The One-on-One Peer Support program is an opportunity for support focused on new foster parents, to help you orient into your new and unfamiliar role. New foster parents can be matched with one of our experienced foster parent volunteers who will provide regular contact and support for a period of six months.
If you are a new foster parent and you wish to be matched with a foster parent volunteer, please contact Kim Bulger at 1-888-845-1555 or kim.bulger@novascotia.ca
